Editorial Policy

How QuantumCryptoRisk decides what to publish, who reviews it, and how we correct mistakes. Everything on this site is educational research — nothing is financial, investment, cybersecurity, or legal advice.

Last reviewed: July 2026

Independence

QuantumCryptoRisk is independently owned. No cryptocurrency issuer, exchange, custodian, hardware vendor, or PQC library maintainer pays us to alter rankings, methodology, article coverage, or scoring weights. Sponsored placements — where they exist — are labelled unambiguously as sponsored.

Who writes and reviews

Every research note and hub page is authored by a QuantumCryptoRisk contributor and reviewed by at least one second reader before publication. Reviewers check that claims match cited primary sources (NIST publications, IETF drafts, peer-reviewed papers, protocol documentation, official audit reports) and that uncertainty is stated plainly.

Named authors and reviewers are listed on each article once the byline system ships. Until then, unattributed pieces are the responsibility of the QuantumCryptoRisk editorial team.

Sourcing standards

See the Sources & Citation Standards page for the full rules. In summary:

  • Primary sources first — NIST FIPS/SP publications, IETF RFCs and drafts, cryptographers' original papers, protocol repositories.
  • Secondary sources (news articles, blog posts, vendor whitepapers) are used only to add context, never as sole evidence for a security claim.
  • Every non-obvious claim links to the underlying source. Where a source is paywalled, we say so.
  • Screenshots, tables, and quotes are dated and versioned so readers can reproduce them.

Review cadence

  • Rankings and methodology — reviewed at least quarterly, and immediately when NIST publishes a new PQC standard, IETF adopts a new draft, or a covered project ships a material cryptography change.
  • Guides and hubs — reviewed at least twice a year, with the "Last reviewed" date updated inline.
  • Blog posts — reviewed when linked from an updated hub, or when a reader submits a correction.

Corrections

If we get something wrong we fix it. Material corrections — anything that changes a score, a recommendation, or a factual claim — are logged at the bottom of the affected page with the date and a one-line description of the change. Typos and formatting fixes are silent.

Conflicts of interest

  • Contributors disclose holdings in any cryptocurrency they cover in a scoring capacity.
  • QuantumCryptoRisk does not accept payment to increase a project's ranking or to remove it from coverage.
  • Trust Badge reviews (paid) are conducted under a separate rubric published on the Trust Badge page and never influence editorial rankings.

What we don't publish

  • Price predictions, trading signals, or "which coin will win" claims.
  • Exploit code, working attacks against live systems, or anything that could aid the theft of user funds.
  • Security guarantees. Cryptography changes; scoring is a snapshot in time.
